Egg waffles are a Hong Kong street food staple; an eggy batter poured into a hot two-sided waffle mold with vaguely spheric voids. The resultant waffle is pulled from the iron hot, then set to cool into a curved shape.
Served hot with paper wrapping. The egg waffle can be pulled apart by hand, to be eaten bubble-by-bubble. Some vendors flavor the batter; fruit, chocolate, and matcha flavors are common.
In later years this has been imported to the west as a variant on an ice cream waffle cone, sometimes found at boba shops.
